Welcome to Orchid's World of Video Graphics. The following are
BBS installation procedures for Windows 3.0 and 3.1!
We have a couple of suggestions for proper installion of the NEW
ORCHID WINDOWS DRIVER which now supports HiColor or 640x480
32,768 colors.
1. You will need to download "ORCHID31.EXE" from our BBS. Copy this
file to a formatted floppy diskette. Change to that disk drive
letter (A: or B:) and type "ORCHID31" <ENTER>.
Copy ORCHID31.EXE a: <ENTER>
A:>orchid31 <ENTER>
2. The self-extracting file will unpack the following files:
FINSTALL.EXE
ORCHIDF.EXE
ORCHIDF.2G_
ORCHIDF.3G_
ORCHIDF.38_
ORCHIDF.DR_
OEMSETUP.INF
ORCHD30.38_
ORCHD30.3G_

3. Run the FINSTALL file from your floppy drive and answer the
Windows 3.X questions for proper installation. Note: help is
provide in the FINSTALL by hitting the "F1" key.
A:>finstall <ENTER>
4. If you are using Windows 3.1, go to your Window's CONTROL PANEL
in the MAIN GROUP and double click on that icon to enter the CONTROL
PANEL. Find the Orchid Icon and double click on that Icon to
choose a resolution and complete the installation.
If you are using Windows 3.0, the Orchid Icon will be on the desktop.
Important! If you have previously installed the Orchid Drivers on
your system, and you are using Windows 3.1, the ORCHID ICON will
appear on your Desktop. Please use your DOS Editor to remove
it from you WIN.INI file which can be found in your WINDOWS
subdirectory. When you edit your WIN.INI file, you will find a
statement "LOAD=ORCHID.EXE", remove the ORCHID.EXE from that
statement.
